As part of a wider business restructure, Preston-based WBM Insulation turned to BPI to manage the sale of surplus woodworking and associated machinery. The company required a trusted partner who could deliver a straightforward process while ensuring strong engagement from buyers.

The auction brought together more than 50 lots spanning woodworking machinery, tools, and associated equipment. Notable assets included a Battenfeld TM 2700/1900 B4 Injection Moulder, 2008 Biesse Rover A3 40 CNC Router, Homag Optimat CH04, Akkuslar MCD1M.70 Multi Rip Saw, S325 Beam Press, Wadkin Bursgreen Spindle Moulders, SCM Compact 22 4-Sided Moulder/Planer, and an Altendorf Panel Saw. Additional lots included compressors, extraction units, radial arm saws, timber pallets, and offcuts, attracting a wide range of trade buyers.

BPI delivered a full auction service covering cataloguing, photography, marketing, and bidder support, while the vendor managed collections directly from site. The sale attracted strong competition and ultimately surpassed initial expectations, underlining the demand for well-maintained woodworking machinery.

Logan Cameron, Warehouse & Logistics Manager at WBM Insulation, said:

“Quick and easy, hassle-free. David knew the deadlines I had to adhere to in order to help create more space from old redundant stock and machines to make way for new stock. I was told about BPI by a colleague, and we’ve also bought from them over the years, so it felt like a natural fit to work with the team on this sale.”

David Ward, Woodworking Manager at BPI, added:
“This was a smooth transition for the vendor, with the whole process managed efficiently from start to finish. Surpassing expectations is always rewarding, and we’re glad we could support the business at this stage of its journey. We’re always happy to help.”
