When David Henderson, owner of Henderson Fabrications Halifax Ltd., made the decision to retire, he turned to BPI for a full asset disposal solution. Based in Halifax, the business had built a strong reputation over many years in metal fabrication and engineering. With the closure marking a personal milestone, David sought a trusted partner to manage the sale of assets with care and efficiency — aiming for minimal disruption, maximum return, and a stress-free process.

The online auction featured 47 lots and was run on a no-reserve basis to generate broad buyer interest. Our team managed the entire process — from lotting and marketing to viewings and collections — delivering a seamless experience that exceeded expectations and generated over £10,000 in sales.

The auction catalogue included a diverse mix of well-maintained machinery, tools and workshop infrastructure, such as Promecam RG-75-30 hydraulic press brake, ELGA Hydashear guillotine, Kingsland hydraulic punch, Bianco bandsaw, Cebora MIG and TIG welders, Clarke and Debora units, and a Cut Master plasma cutter. Other assets included a Lansing Linde gas forklift, Powrmatic gas heater, compressors, drill presses, heavy-duty metal benches, fabricated trestles, and a large quantity of sheet and off-cut metal stock. This range of equipment appealed to both trade buyers and start-ups seeking dependable, ready-to-use workshop assets.

From instruction to site clearance, the project was completed in six weeks. BPI’s project managers conducted an initial site assessment, professionally catalogued the assets, coordinated viewings by appointment, and oversaw collections with care. The client’s timeline and expectations were met without compromise — ensuring a smooth and stress-free exit from the business.

David later shared how much he appreciated the experience: “The whole team were fantastic. I didn’t have to sell anything individually — and nothing was left in the workshop. This was meant to be the most stressful time of my life, and it’s been a breath of fresh air.”

Nathan Burnham, Associate Director at BPI, said: “It was a real privilege to support David through this important milestone. Helping someone move into retirement with confidence and peace of mind is exactly what we aim for at BPI.”
