When a local glass manufacturing business closed unexpectedly, the company was uncertain about how to manage the disposal of its equipment. Facing extremely tight deadlines to vacate the premises, the client initially considered selling some assets to a neighbouring company. Fortunately, that company recommended BPI and facilitated an immediate introduction to our Commercial Director, James Mellars.
James visited the site the same day and promptly agreed to manage a short-notice sale. The team was on site the following day, and the auction went live within 24 hours of the initial contact.

The sale covered the full contents of the business, including vehicles, specialised machinery, and workshop equipment. Notable items included Renault and Mercedes panel vans, a Nissan gas forklift, hydraulic glass cutting and braking tables, glass washing and cutting machines, air compressors, pallet trucks, pneumatic nail guns, and a wide selection of handling trolleys and consumables.

BPI’s rapid mobilisation and efficient marketing approach ensured the auction attracted strong regional buyer interest. Running as a no-reserve sale, it concluded successfully, reflecting the quality of the assets and the urgency with which the sale was conducted.

James Mellars, Commercial Director at BPI, said:
“This project showcased the importance of swift, coordinated action under tight time constraints. By responding quickly and maintaining clear communication with the vendor, we delivered a seamless auction process that maximised value and met the client’s urgent requirements.”
