A fleet of waste-handling plant, material handlers and heavy-duty processing equipment previously operated by Acetech Metals Ltd. is now being offered for sale via online auction. The assets are being sold on behalf of the Liquidators and a finance company, with the sale managed by BPI Asset Advisory and listed on BPI.

Acetech Metals was a significant operator within the UK metals recycling sector, specialising in the processing of ferrous metals and aluminium for both domestic reuse and export. Operating from two major yards in the North of England, the business handled materials through a range of processes including magnetic separation, mobile and static shearing, shredding, baling, and downstream handling of UBCs, tinplate, and waste-to-energy ferrous streams.

The disposal features more than 80 lots of large-capacity plant and equipment, including Liebherr and Fuchs material handlers, Caterpillar excavators and dump trucks, a Liebherr loading shovel, heavy-duty forklifts, terminal tractors and a Powerscreen triaxle trommel. A range of attachments is also available, including shears, grabs, magnets and breakers.

At a time when the recycling industry is experiencing increasing financial strain, with the recent liquidation filing of Unimetals Group and several other operators under pressure, this sale provides an opportunity for organisations across the sector to access high-specification equipment that rarely becomes available through an auction process.

Luke Hartshorn, Director at BPI Asset Advisory, commented: “We anticipate strong interest in this disposal. The scale and specification of the machinery on offer make it particularly attractive to recyclers, demolition businesses and contractors looking to increase capacity with equipment that is built for continuous, heavy-duty use.”

Assets are located across three operational sites in Scunthorpe. Due to ongoing site activity, viewing is strictly by appointment only and will take place on Tuesday 20th January 2026. Interested parties are invited to contact Carol Allen at carol.allen@bpiaa.com to arrange a booking.

The online auction will close on 22nd January 2026. To browse the full catalogue and register to bid, visit BPI’s website.
