BPI has strengthened its carbon reduction strategy as part of its ongoing commitment to improving environmental performance across its operations, transport activity and supply chain.
The updated Carbon Reduction Plan sets out practical measures to improve efficiency, reduce emissions and enhance the environmental benefits delivered through the reuse and redistribution of unwanted business assets.
As an asset disposal specialist, BPI helps businesses recover value from unused and unwanted equipment while extending asset lifecycles and reducing waste. The updated strategy builds on the company’s existing sustainability commitments and outlines how it will continue to improve environmental performance as the business grows.
The plan focuses on four key areas: reducing emissions within BPI’s direct operations, improving transport and logistics efficiency, working with suppliers to reduce indirect emissions, and supporting circular economy outcomes through asset reuse and resale.
Transport and logistics remain the largest contributor to BPI’s carbon footprint and are therefore a major focus for ongoing improvement. Initiatives include optimising route planning, reducing unnecessary transport movements and increasing operational efficiency across collections and asset recoveries.
Alongside efforts to reduce emissions, BPI is strengthening its approach to measuring environmental performance through carbon intensity metrics, including CO₂e per asset processed, CO₂e per tonne transported and CO₂e per mile travelled. This allows the business to track efficiency improvements while continuing to meet client demand.
